Joker virus is back , delete these apps for your safety

In July last year, Google removed 11 apps that were infected with this virus. After this, in October, 34 apps were removed from the Play Store.


Android devices are not considered very secure. Malware attacks keep happening on it again and again. Once again the threat of a virus has started looming on the Android device. This virus is not new. Even before this, in July last year, the Joker virus targeted more than 40 Android apps. These apps were present on the Google Play Store.

This time Joker virus has again targeted 8 new Android apps. This virus acquires the data of users through apps. These data include information like SMS, contact list, device info, OTP.

Google has removed these apps from the Google Play Store but if these apps are present on the user's device then the virus will be present. If you have any of these apps on your device, please remove them as soon as possible.
According to a report by GadgetsNow, the apps that have been infected by the Joker virus are

1. Auxiliary Message,
2. Fast magic SMS,
3. Free CamScanner,
4. Super Message,
5. Element Scanner,
6. Go messages,
7. Travel wallpapers
8. Super SMS apps.


Joker is a malware Trojan which is mainly used to target the android users. We all know nearly out of every 5 mobiles 4 of them uses android, so how big this issue is.


According to the report of cyber security  Zcaler, these apps have been downloaded more than 1,20,000 times. According to Zcaler "this spyware is designed to steal SMS messages, contact lists, and device information along with silently signing up the victim for premium wireless application protocol (WAP) services".
